PayPal is a secure international platform for sending and receiving money.
Note: The choice of how to receive your security deposit refund is ultimately yours. We aim to provide multiple options for your convenience.
However, please be aware that PayPal is not our recommended method for receiving your refund.
Our goal is to ensure you receive the maximum amount possible, and Wise is our preferred platform for this purpose.
Stripe Japan is a highly secure international platform for sending and receiving money. We offer Stripe Japan as an option for you to receive your deposit refund.
The fees associated with processing and refunding clients through Stripe Japan are FREE. Since you have previously processed a transaction using Stripe Japan with one of your credit card methods, there is no cost to refund the money back to your card on file.
Note: Refunding security deposits via Stripe Japan has been a bit more challenging since we began using it on December 31, 2022. However, as customers build up more history and data processed through Stripe Japan over time, it will become easier to use as a refund method.
We strive to provide you with as many options as possible to receive your security deposit according to your preference. If needed, we are happy to split the refund and process a portion through Stripe Japan and the remainder through another method.
Please note that it can take 10 or more days for the refund to appear on your statement. If it takes longer, please contact your bank for assistance.
Please note that the Customer Processing Management Platform Fee will increase from 5% to 10% effective on January 31, 2024.
JapanETCcard has recently upgraded our platforms and administrative management systems. We have transitioned to new merchant providers, resulting in completely different procedures and processes. Invoices are now processed entirely in Japanese Yen through Stripe Japan. While Stripe Japan has the capability to process transactions, the management processes involved in utilizing their services are significantly different. To accommodate these changes, a customer management processing fee of 10% will be applied to customers' invoices from any merchant payment processor.
Our new management system, effective January 31, 2024, will offer enhanced discount capabilities and improved customer experience.
Please be assured that we WILL NOT charge the 10% fee on ANY deposit, including the Initial Deposit, Additional Card Deposit, or when splitting the deposit payment into two installments.
With the enhanced capabilities now available to our customers, we have implemented several improvements, including multiple payment processors, streamlined billing and invoicing, efficient payment processing, enhanced communication with clients, optimized internal contacts and processes, refined collections processes, and updated credit policies. These changes are designed to provide a better experience for our valued users.
Our secure billing portal allows you to keep your credit card information up to date and pay any outstanding invoices. We maintain a comprehensive history of all your invoices processed through Stripe Japan within our new billing portal.
Every "WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY" we receive ETC cards.
We will receive the ETC card based on the cut-off date & time of Wednesday and Friday and receive it 1 week later.
* If you prefer to have a temporary ETC card rushed to you, an additional charge applies until your official ETC card arrives.
For some customers, waiting until the following Wednesday and Friday for their ETC card to arrive is perfectly fine. However, we do occasionally have customers who need it sooner.
We allow customers to receive temporary ETC cards for a maximum of 14 days while their official ETC card is being processed. This will give you sufficient opportunity to use the temporary ETC card for your planned road trip.
Toll usage accumulated on the temporary ETC card will be migrated to the customer's official ETC card. We will transfer the ETC usage to the customer's permanent ETC account ID.
We have a limited supply of temporary ETC cards. We do not want them lost, damaged, or delayed in being returned.
If we are unable to receive a temporary ETC card, the above fees will be charged.
Note: Our goal is NOT to charge you a late/lost fee. Our goal is to help you receive the temporary ETC card for your upcoming trip and ensure the timely return of our temporary ETC cards. We have been in this business for over a decade, and without incentivizing customers to take responsibility, they may not prioritize the return of the cards.
If you have misplaced your ETC card, we can start the process to get you a new ETC card.
Please keep in mind it will take 10-12 days for us to receive your new ETC card.
Also be aware that when we start the process to get you a new ETC card, your current ETC card will be deactivated.
When you are ready to cancel your ETC card, you simply need to cut up the ETC card and provide an image of the destroyed ETC Card and chip. Please send the image of the destroyed card to [email protected].
Our cancellation process is super easy and super smooth. Submit your request to cancel online by specifying the last date you intend to use the ETC card. We will ask you to submit pictures showing the ETC card has been destroyed. We will begin the cancellation date when we actually receive the image of the destroyed ETC card or when a manual deactivation is processed from our side. We REQUIRE you to submit the image to show the card has been destroyed. You must cut up the CHIP on the card. If you are unable to provide the image of the destroyed ETC card, we will have to deactivate the card manually.
Super easy, super convenient, and super transparent! We need evidence that the card is destroyed, so please ensure you provide your image of the destroyed card before you throw it away.
The initial setup fee has to be applied every time you apply for a new ETC card.
If you cancel your account and want to re-activate it, you will have to pay for the initial setup again.
Pay invoices on time to keep ETC card with JapanETCcard in good standing and prevent ETC card from being temporarily deactivated.
Accounts are considered delinquent 7 days after the unpaid invoice due date. This does not constitute the card being deactivated, but late fees will begin to apply after 7 days.
If the account is past due by over ¥20,000, and 14 days past due, we will temporarily deactivate the ETC card.
You will be responsible for re-activating the ETC card if you allow the account to go unpaid for more than 14 days. Billing is 2 months behind. So when you have an unpaid invoice, you owe two months. We then allow you to drive an additional 14 days, meaning you are behind 2 1/2 months of ETC usage, with past-due invoices.
The ETC card can only be re-activated if your account is in good standing and caught up with paid invoices.
When we re-activate your ETC card, it may take 7-10 days to receive your new ETC card replacement.
